C&SS has been an innovative force in designing records and file storage solutions for the information management industry. Records box storage and retrieval systems are used in many applications.
Standard records boxes are 13" wide x 10" high x 16" deep, and files can be easily transferred from file cabinets into this size box. Boxes are usually barcoded and scanned into location.
Files that are active and require quick access can be stored on 1-high, 1-deep shelves. Files that require the fastest possible access time are best suited using records storage - open shelf file & retrieval systems. A more common configuration in box storage is 2-high, 2-deep shelving.
This technique increases the amount of storage, and is less expensive. For maximum density storage using 3-high, 3-deep see high density records storage. Records box storage can be single-level or multi-level with catwalk aisles, depending on the size of the available warehouse area.
