Storage Racks

Conveyor & Storage Solutions has been designing warehouse storage systems using industrial storage racks for the material handling industry. Following is a list of the most common type of rack system found in warehouse storage.

Pallet Rack

Pallet racks are the most popular type of system used for warehouse storage applications. Pallet racks are designed to store pallets, boxes, cartons, furniture, carpet, records archives, crates, bulk storage, and almost any other type of raw goods and finished products.

Pallet racks come in many different sizes to meet the varying needs of the material handling industry. Four of the most common type of pallet racks are: selective pallet racks, drive-In pallet rack, pushback pallet rack, and pallet/carton flow racks.

Drive-In Pallet Rack

Drive-in pallet rack are designed to maximize your storage density, up to 50% or more than selective rack.

Drive-in rack are used in the food and beverage industry, and any other industry where there are large quantities of the same product. For dual pallet systems, Twinlode drive-in pallet rack increase density and decreases labor handling costs 50% by moving two loads at a time.

Pushback Pallet Rack

Pushback pallet rack is an accumulative storage system that allows you to store up to five pallets deep per level.

All of the pallets on each level, except the last, are placed on a set of trollys that are pushed along the rolling rails. These rails are built on a slight incline, lower at the front, so that the pallets at the back move forward when the pallets closest to the aisle are removed.

All the pallets placed on a particular level must contain the same SKU and are managed using the Last In First Out (LIFO) system.

Pallet Flow Rack

Flow pallet rack is a storage system where pallets are fed from one side, and retrieved from the other. This system uses a combination of rails and wheels. The rails are built on a slight incline, higher on the side that is fed, so that the pallets move forward when they are loaded into the system.

All the pallets placed on a particular level must contain the same SKU and are managed using the First In First Out (FIFO) system.

Carton Flow Rack

Flow carton rack is similar to flow pallet rack, except cartons and/or boxes are being stored.

Pallet Rack Installation

Pallet rack installation requires an experienced material handling crew with the propper tools and the right equipment. The pallet rack installation should follow the design layout, which is prepared in advance by the project management team.

Pallet Rack Repair

Our fabrication shop allows C&SS to make many custom repairs in a short amount of time. Pallet rack repair, including column frame replacements, may only require little 'down-time' for customers.

Pallet Rack Shelving

The type of pallet rack shelving will depend on the custmers' needs. Some types of pallet rack shelving include wiremesh decks, pallet support bars, punchdeck, bdeck, solid deck, metal deck, and wire deck.

The city fire department requires that high pile storage is to be restriced by the amount of fire protection in the warehouse. Fire protection usually includes the overhead sprinkler system, fire hoses, and fire extinguishers.

The storage size and type of commodity being stored is usually limited by the amount of fire protection available. Most warehouse pallet rack require at least 50% open shelving, or else require in-rack sprinklers.

Rack Supported Mezzanine

Storage mezzanines create additional space for warehouses, offices, manufacturing and production plants, restaurants, and storage facilities.

Rack supported mezzanines can be built over existing equipment and work area. By improving workflow efficiency and space utilization, rack supported mezzanines can eliminate downtime and expensive relocation costs.
