Many types of materials can be used for mezzanine flooring, including solid plywood, laminated wood over the top of b-deck, and open bar grating.
The benefits of using bar grating for a mezzanine floor is that it allows overhead light and sprinklers to penetrate through to the storage area below. Steel bar grating is very durable, offers heavy storage capacities, and can withstand everyday abuse by pallet jacks, dollies, carts, and other equipment.
