Project Overview:
Conveyor and Storage Solutions, Inc. Installation Team consisting of Jeremy Keith, Jarrod Faul, and Maui Ledesma was able to provide a custom-built DEA Approved Storage Cage solution for Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc. to secure customized, patient–specific compounded sterile preparations.

High-Quality Admixture Services & Solutions
CAPS is the largest network of outsourcing admixture pharmacies in the nation. Since 1991, they have been the leader in the outsourcing of compounded sterile preparations (CSP), providing high-quality admixture services and solutions to hospitals and outpatient facilities all over the country.
They currently have 25 locations across the United States and offer both personalized and traditional solutions for hospitals and outpatient providers. CAPS pharmacies are open 365 days a year to provide our health system pharmacy patients with branded, patient-specific medications.
PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK
DEA Storage Cage Install with Self-Closing & Self-Locking Doors
When the largest network of outsourcing admixture pharmacies reached out to Conveyor and Storage Solutions, Inc. was presented the challenge of the installation and design of a DEA Approved Storage Cage to secure high quality compounded sterile preparations (CSP). Another obstacle that we faced was due to the Pandemic COVID-19 restrictions, all those visiting or working in the facility was required to have their temperature taken. Although, this presented a challenge the sales team along with the installation team were able to order and deliver a custom-built DEA Storage Cage application in a timely manner and doubling in size of the Wire Partition.
C&SS Sales Team with its extensive product knowledge was able to foresee that this project was going to require DEA Partition with Tamper Proof Hardware and needed to be self-closing. Also, C&SS was able to identify issues with wall obstructions while providing proof of vaulted walls that needed to have solid sheet of 10 Gauge Metal (Woven Wire).

DEA Approved Cages For Class III-V Must Meet the Following Standards:
• Self-closing and self-locking doors
• Walls made from No.10 steel fabric or greater with openings no more than 2-1/2" corner to corner, mounted securely on steel posts no more than ten feet apart, reinforced horizontally
• Walls mounted to posts one inch in diameter, lagged to the floor
• Ceiling of identical materials to panels, or reaching the structural ceiling
• Panels mount flush with the floor
